Just a quick update today, sadly I've not updated for a few weeks due to zero poker activity, this will change hopefully over the Christmas Period when I head home to Stoke and play a couple of Circus Tournaments and hook up with the old gang.
Today on Google News I was sadly to discover the closure of a friendly little Poker Jaunt in London, Ladbrokes Paddington Casino (as featured in my blog here). As seems to be the trend during the recession and every mounting financial pressure from the UK Government, the little guys just can't compete. I think this venture was always going to be difficult to maintain due to it's highly upmarket location (annexed to Paddington Hilton Hotel) it was always going to be extremely hard to run this at a profit.
I enjoyed a couple of good nights out here when living in London, including one particularly note-worthy night of Poker. With this closing and Loose Cannon effectively no longer offering Poker it seems the choices just lessened every so slightly for the London Poker scene.
